Port Lockroy and Petermann Island : Our fifth day found us at Port Lockroy getting ready to visit Base A, now a museum and gift shop, on Goudier Island . We also visited Jougla Point on nearby Wiencke Island. After the visit we once again sailed through the Lemaire Channel on our way to an afternoon visit to Petermann Island.

Lemaire Channel and Booth Island : On this day, our fourth, we sailed through the Lemaire Channel in the morning, going from North to South. We visited the west side of Booth Island in the afternoon. In the evening we sailed back through the Lemaire Channel from South to North. We viewed a spectacular sunset.

Antarctic Circle & Extension Reef : Our third day saw us cruising to the Antarctic Circle and trying to find an ice-free route to the coast. We ended up doing a Zodiac cruise around the Extension Reefs, a new area for Lindblad. In the evening the Captain tried to find some fast-ice but couldn't. We did see a lone Emperor Penguin.
